Well, it’s that time of year, the summer movies have started their releases! Disney has some major films coming out both in their brand and under Marvel, however with the majority of them being sequels will viewers have that itch to see them. Speaking of sequels, they are out in full force mixed in with some interesting new stories and movies.
Well after a few weeks of hiatus I am finally back! Don’t worry I’ve kept my ear to the ground as to new trailer releases and news around the area. I discuss the latest in trailer releases and how those movies will shape their respective entities. Star Wars Celebration Orlando is happening this weekend and I go through my predictions of the celebration and share the news that Carrie Fisher WILL be in Episode 9 (according to her brother). Let’s hope and pray for “The Last Jedi’ trailer release! And Josh Brolin will play Cable in ‘Deadpool 2’ and more!
WB released a HUGE final trailer for ‘Wonder Woman’ and it looks stunning. But, could this movie push the DCEU out of its funk? Fingers crossed, as more news is released concerning the other films slated for the rest of the franchise. Twitch has all of the Power Rangers episodes airing as a promotion for the new ‘Power Rangers Movie’ coming out in a few weeks. And I’m leaving for 2 weeks…see or hear me soon!
The DCEU finally had some good news! Matt Reeves has officially joined ‘The Batman’ as a producer and most importantly…Director! But is this a short lived celebration due to the fact that there’s still a lack of tangible script?! ‘Nightwing’ has also been announced with ‘The LEGO Batman Movie’ director Chris McKay as it’s director. Another movie…but where’s the continuity. ‘Logan’ is set to release in a couple of weeks, but both Hugh Jackman and Sir Patrick Stewart have announced their retirements in their respective parts. And finally, ‘Star Wars: The Last Jedi’ has announced reshoots to carefully handle the missing Carrie Fisher.
Another week, another bit of bad news for the WB and DCEU movie ‘The Batman’. With Ben Affleck exiting as director (still playing Batman), now Matt Reeves has fallen out of negotiations and the movie has no leader. Also marred with rumors of rewrites and the very slim chance of Affleck’s departure, I go down the list of possible directors up for the challenge. LEGO Batman movie is on the other side of the spectrum, running a mill all over the competition in theatres and here’s no sign of stopping. Also catching up on some TV shows…yes some of them have been out for a while but c’mon, I’m only human.
Whoa, it’s been a little around 2 months since I’ve done a full stream and man does it feel good to be back! Just catching up on some of the bigger news stories in my absence and just giving people a look into the future with what I’m looking forward to this upcoming year!
I’ve had it! I can’t keep my mouth shut anymore. The DCEU (DC Extended Universe) is in utter disarray. Two of their notable titles are going through extensive script rewrites, and one of those movies lost its Director. But, unlike it’s movies the DC television shows on the CW Network are in great standings. On the other side of the aisle, Disney is set to have yet another stellar year with major releases from Marvel and Lucasfilm. Can DC turn their fate around?!
